Remember Remember the 5th of November

There are times when you stumble across a news story and you fear for the future of the human race.

This incident - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/wear/6132140.stm - surely has to be a contender for the Darwin Awards.

In fact, I'll just go and submit it...

...there, all done.

UPDATE

Just discovered another version of the story here, which goes into a bit more detail:

ANOTHER UPDATE

In fact, I think I've just discovered the action caught on a mobile phone camera and posted on YouTube. You can't see much, but judging by the laughter over the guy's screams, his friends aren't that sympathetic:

That poor, idiotic boy. Just another example of how one bad decision can turn into a lifetime of pooing trough a tube.

Well, we know where his brains are located.

Does the team think that the fact he'd just come back from a tour of duty in Iraq should be a mitigating factor? No, I thought not.

It is quite astounding the sheer idiocy of some people. The fact that he's an ex-squaddie doesn't exactly give you much confidence in those in charge of handing out the guns.

You should see the stunts that he can perform with an M16 and a hand grenade while juggling mortar rounds.

I feel bad for his parents.

Very scary! Hope my rugby captain hasn't seen it, he is always looking for new stunts....but even he wouldn't be that stupid!?

Yes he was a complete idiot but I want to add that all his "pals" the one that lit the thing and the idiots standing laughing thinking this is funny certainly aren't any brighter than he is.
Pretty sad.

( friends don't let friends drive drunk....should add..friends don't let friends perform insane acts of stupidity).

BStrong - I'll bet his dad wishes he'd had that vasectomy after all.

Birdwatcher - Rugby... *shudder*

Dr J McC - glad you're still alive and well, and congratulations on the book - I'll put a link up shortly. I have already submitted it to the Darwin Awards

Stella - depressing, isn't it?

Quinn - the laughter all round clearly demonstrates the mindset of his pals.

Submitted the story, Dr McCrumble, not your book...
