Magazines

.
Maggie took Meg to the supermarket with her this morning.

"Go and get me a copy of The Puzzler," she said to Meg, who dutifully went off to the magazine aisle.

Meg took a while, but eventually returned with the right puzzle book and another magazine rolled up under her arm. "I thought we could get this one for daddy," she said.

I'm going to ban her from watching boy bands on TV

UPDATE
Binty sent me a personalised version - do take a look at some of the headlines :)

that is too cute, sugar! (my boys signed their dad up for samples of rogain and some hair dye for me...he was greying in his late 30s and let's do even start on the male pattern baldness)

It would be interesting to know which of the stories prompted her to pick up the issue.

The choices are somewhat alarming . . . I personally would be interested in "Losing Your Gut with Sausages and Mash"

What a sweetheart - I'm sure she was just seeing the title and not the article about begging for sex... Meg definitely loves her daddy!

She is a good girl, that one.

Savannah - grey I can cope with; baldness seems to be passing me by; but I have no desire to have abs like that...

Brave Astronaut - she was probably just trying to make me feel better that the model on this magazine isn't as good looking as me

Sayre - Hmmm, I dunno - it's quite possible it was the eye candy

KarateMom - to b honest I have no idea what men buy these kinds of magazines as all they do is make you feel inadequate.

Carole - the best :)

That girl has taste!!! Just wait until she's tall enough to reach the top shelf!

Hilarious! I'll be expecting to hear about your doubled muscle and Einstein IQ next week...

How sweet. Me little one only brings me candy and junk food. (her favorite)

Oh and those abs am not real Kim. They am totally airbrushed and photoshoped. Nobody have abs like that. You hear me?!?! NOBODY!!!

Kim Ayres said...

Stella - hmmmm...

Archie - actually it probably is more likely to be about Losing Your Gut with Sausages and Mash...

Monstee - have you ever been tempted to shave your fur to show off your abs?

Monstee said...

What? And have women swooning into comas and unexplored heights of ecstasy and men lapsing into infantile-like inadequacy and viagra proof impotence!

Me just could no have that on me shoulders.

Namaste said...

Haha. Adorable! Hate to say it, but it looks like the girl has great taste! :)

Forget the ..."Quit Begging" article, what were the 6-minute meals for 6-pack abs??? Really, too funny.

Kim Ayres said...

Monstee - your benevolence is supreme

Namaste - never judge a man by his abs

RG - I think if I'd tried to make up a comedy cover I would have found it difficult to beat this one on headlines, yet it's the genuine article.

Well, what is LLCoolJ's knockout fitness secret?

nice.

i try to avoid magazines, if only to avoid the dozens of smaller shiny magazines they seem to contain inside.

Sam - personally I think it's to do with chasing seagulls

Michael - true- it's a bit like taking in a stray cat and suddnly realising she's pregnant...

She's such a sweetie. Bet you had a chuckle!

You're welcome mate - it was fun to do... more time and it would have blended a little better, but if I had more time then you wouldn't be waiting for the next Blunt Cogs installment, would you!?

If you feel tired now, imagine how exhausted the people who write those articles must be. They have to keep churning out those articles just like we have to keep thinking of stuff to cook for dinner; it's like reinventing the wheel.

Sayre said...

OMG - I had to print that out and put it on my board (in my office) at work!!!

Amy Flege said...

oh thats is awesome!!

Kim Ayres said...

Pat - she is, and we did :)

Binty - I do appreciate it - although you now have to prioritise Blunt Cogs!

Mary - I think all they do is take the same articles they wrote the month beofre and shuffle the sentences around

Sayre - pretty low resolution - I can't imagine it printed well

Amy - :)

Funny. I think the real copy is fairly mocked up too. Airbrush anyone?

Kim Ayres said...

They do look very airbrushed don't they :)

Sayre said...

Well, it came out pretty small. Someone would have to walk right up to it to look. And I don't know how to make it bigger. Sigh.
