Where Does The Time Go?

.
It's June 16th 2009, and Rogan is 14 today.

How did it get to be 2009?

How did it get to be Rogan's 14th birthday?

How did my little golden curly haired toddler become a strapping lad, now as tall as his mother and running his own Home Baking Business?

Given these feelings of time gone askew, it seemed apt I create a Dr Who themed birthday card for him this year.

Time goes straight to the lines on our face, and the muffin top which creeps over the top of our troosers when you hit the big 40.

We measure both success and failure by time, usually the bigger the success the shorter the time.
Bad times tend to drag on forever, while the good times appear very short.

Is there a man amongst us who hasn't wanted at some point to turn back the hands of the clock?

A very happy birthday to Rogan.
Two of my girls had birthdays in the past few weeks, 17 & 15!
Where does time go indeed.
Hope he has a great day.

A good-looking boy/young man for sure. And that Matrix photo from last year is great: I wonder how I missed it.

Happy birthday to Rogan--all the great ones are born in June.

A happy birthday to Rogan - likely belated by the next time this is found.
I know where you're coming from here, my number two was 17 today (also for reference, Stan Laurel(119) and Geronimo (180)hatched today). Also sillier it seems to me, is the fact that my granny started out my life at a reasonable age of 61 when I was born would have been 105 yesterday if she was still about.
No wonder I've got wrinkles

Sandy

Jimmy - turning back the clock - reminds me of the saying, "Experience is something you gain immediately after you needed it most"

Mapstew - 2 teenage lasses in the house? - I don't envy you...

Charlie - so what date's your birthday this month?

The Matrix image was one of my best ever. It'll be a long time before I surpass that one

Savannah - thanks :)

Legalmist - it's become as much a part of their birthday celebrations each year as slices of pizza and birthday cake.

Pat - These past few months he's had a real growing spurt. What's noticeable is when I paste his head on adult bodies in Phtoshop, it no longer looks odd.

Sandy - happy birthday number 2!

You mean wrinkles are inherited? Damn all those old relatives...

Hope - I think what you meant to say was "lucky kid having such a good looking dad to inherit from"

Daphne - I just wonder if he'll ever be tempted to grow a beard.

Mind you, he might have to as it's that long since I last shaved I'll never be able to teach him...

Happy Birthday to Rogan from us too, and has it really been a year? Sheeeesh...

See you soon!

Kim Ayres said...

Charlie - It's the same day as my elder stepdaughter, so I'll try and make the connection next year. Meanwhile, hope you had a good one a couple of weeks ago :)

Sarah - he gets it from his dad...

Mapstew - my condolences...

Kanani - yes... just how far in the opposite direction will he go once the teenage rebellion stage kicks in?

Mary - I do hope so :)

Happy Birthday Rogan.....I love the cards [and I know he will always treasure them, as there is no card you could buy on the shelf that equals the love and devotion shown in your creations!!!]

Well you can't take it with you can you?

Sorry had to pop back because I opened a book at randon and read,

Even such is time, which takes in trust
Our Youth, our joys, and all we have,
And pays us but with age and dust;

It goes on but if your interested its Epitaph by Sir Walter Raleigh. He of the coat a puddle and a Queen, fame.
