Meg on a swing

The sound of a child laughing can be quite infectious. While in France Maggie filmed me pushing Meg on the swing. It's not the greatest action shot in the world, but I love her sheer enjoyment.

It also gave me an excuse to try out embedding video into the blog, using Google Video just in case I ever decide to do a video blog in the future.

You have to click on it twice - once for it to respond to the fact that the mouse is on it, and the second time to make it play.

I am a friend of Always Chaos and found you through her blog! I loved the video clip and admire the fact that you are documenting the weight loss! The laugh is infectious and I smile just hearing it!

Whenever I hear my kids laughing like that a tiny, little nag at the back of my mind is always fearing the worst.

Hey there Kim!! that is a super clip. She was most certainly having a fun time and so were you. fabulous!
I need to learn how to do that as I have wanted to post a clip from my son's black belt ceremony and just hadn't figured it out yet.
I look forward to seeing many more from you too!!

god.. those were the days when being pushed on a swing was all that was needed to inspire laughter and joy.

my niece's laughter has that same affect on me, it's terribly infectious. it's not rare to catch us both sitting on the couch making each other laugh, till our guts ache.

I love that! I love to listen to my Prince Charming and my Little Princess playing together. When he has her giggling it is wonderful to hear!

Merle - well I thought so, but then I'm biased

Kats - try antibiotics :)

Gina - welcome to my ramblings! Feel free to comment on Losing a Hundredweight too :)

AntToeKnee - I know what you mean - if my son is laughing ike that then I know he's been up to no good...

Quinn - Once you know what you're doing it's fairly straight forward, but I must admit that Google Video isn't clear to use. It could really do with a step-by-step set of instructions.

Sarah - what a truth that is! Part of the wonder of the laughter is the realisation that it is just the pure joy of the moment.

TC - welcome to my ramblings - Wow! 2 new visitors in one post!

Girl on a swing, nice big French swing with a long arc, Dad pushing.

Perfick.

Sarah's right!

p.s. I also meant to say that I liked the bit at the start where you say "ready?"
Meg says "yeah", and we're off!You can almost feel the butterflies.

Do all adults have this facility surgically removed from them while coming home on the 19 bus on a wet Tuesday night in January? Obviously not, or the sound of laughter would have no effect on us.

Aww!!! I love that sound, too. And the vid was very cute. Sam is 5 and I get that every day. I'm sad that someday it will end.

That is awesome. What a CUTE lil laugh! That brought a smile to my face!!

Kim Ayres said...

Dr Maroon - I think what we have surgically removed is the ability to truly live in the moment. As we grow up we begin tolive either in the future (what are we having for dinner tonight/ where will I go with my life) or the past (I wish I hadn't done that/ life was better back then).

To train ourselves in meditation techniques to exist in the here and now takes years as an adult to achieve what children enjoy naturally.

Sigh

SafeTinspector - You'll just have to keep having more kids until Sam's giving you grandchildren. Then you'll have a never ending supply of children to entertain.

Living - Welcome to my ramblings - and a lovely smile it is you have too.

A third new commenter in one post. Must be a record.

That was so cool, Kim, the way you embedded the video. And a very precious scene of you and your little girl. Thanks for posting that.

So, that's France?

I am smiling thanks for my morning smile... it was like a giant hug...

I'll confess to watching that three times right in a row.

What an angel she is!

its wonderful to capture the beautiful (yet simple) moments in life and keep them for when life is ugly.

(For some odd reason I have the song from Oliver Twist running through my head. ♪♪Who will buy this wonderful feeling....♪♪)

She has the most amazing laugh I have ever heard. She really loves the swing, or is it just the fact that her father is pushing her?

Tara Marie said...

Oh Kim, that is music to my ears.....Meg's infectious giggle reminds me so much of my Emma Sage's......can you imagine if we could bottle that beautiful essence of our daughters...we'd have an exilir of the GODS.

Kats :)

Jupiter's Girl - Oh yes, that's France. Can't you tell?

Nikki - she does indeed :)

Pendullum - anytime :)

Happykat - I think we also have to give credit her to Maggie's nifty camera work

RNP - it's the swing. She laughs like that whoever's pushing her. If we go to the park she will stay on the thing the entire time if she can. I once pushed her for nearly 20 minutes- I was exhausted and in a state of near collapse ans she was still yelling for me to push her higher.

Tara Marie - I think you're right. And with the right marketing campaign we could make a fortune :)

I am new to this blog world, but you sent me a comment about special education. How do I respond to you more easily than this??? Anyway, I will work that out one day. I went to a seminar last night, and the speaker agreed with your approach 100%. See www.include.com.au

Love it, there's nothing more infectious that kids laughing.
