Cover Art - Prole Issue 5

Some of you may remember towards the end of last year, the poetry and prose magazine, Prole, used one of my images for their cover of Issue 3 (and if you don't then click here for the post - "Cover Art")

Well, they've done it again, and chosen another of my photos for Issue 5. This time they've gone for one of my more iconic images, that of my friend and poet, David Mark Williams.

If you fancy submitting your own writings for consideration in the magazine, then you'll find their submissions page here - http://www.prolebooks.co.uk/page3.html

They chose well. Your photograph of him is a memorable image. Intense.

You did such a fine job with this portrait that when your friend commented somewhere, I took one look and thought,"I KNOW that man from somewhere." :)

Wonderful! Awesome!
Thanks, Kim!

Allen - despite being taken over 2 and a half years ago, it is still one of my best images

Hope - his face has been plastered on posters leaflets, my "Staring Back" book and now the cover of the magazine. Although most people don't recognise him if he doesn't cover half his face with a sheet of black card...

Tame Lion - thank you :)

That was a good day's work. Your fame is spreading:)

Step by step, Pat. Plus I've recently found out I'm going to be involved in another event which should spread my name a little wider. More tomorrow :)

That is image always makes me take a second look. We have a guy in our church who could double for him. Only this guy is not so much a poet as an ex-con. And whenever I think of the cover of your book, I think Prison Break.

Carole - During the Spring Fling weekend back in May when I photographed 170 people, one of those was Mark, but he was lit more normally and was smiling. When I pointed out the image I stuck to the wall was the same as the one on the book, most people did a double-take and were amazed it was the same guy.

One day, Carole, we'll have to do a photo session. We can play with lighting and I can show you how uch changing the angle, the background and the expression can make. You can be anything from a Whacky Mom to a Criminal Mastermind :)

Gosh, Kim! Gosh, gosh!

Good things are happening. What an intense image [to use allencapoferri's words].

Guyana_Gyal - this photo was one of the first I took of someone staring intensely into the camera and it was far better than anything I'd taken before. It took another year to try and catch up to it.
