Week 139a - supplemental
Belt... getting... tight...
.
The blog of photographer Kim Ayres
Tell me about it. My coworkers keep bringing in all their leftover cookies from the holidays.
White chocolate and peppermint on a pretzel... Better proof for the existence of a god than anything ever put forth by Aquinas. :)
Mine to!
Oh and thanks for the tip!!
Same thing here, Kim. I say to hell with it 'til after January 1st. There have been many, many excesses this season. More than usual, even. I fear for the fastenings on my Hogmanay frock.
I'm keeping my belt at arms length until the trifle's run out.
Haha, right now I'd prefer a tightening belt to what I've got :D
Yeah, well, I am trying not to start smoking again. Which would loosen my belt and make me cough. Time to get a grip--again!
It happens quick don't it?
one minute everything's fine, we're getting there, next day you don't understand it. Have these trousers shrunk? Has this belt had some holes cut off the end? What's going on?
Tom - I have to say my wife's chocolate ice cream is proof enough I'm married to a goddess
Casdok - anytime - you have to watch out for these scam artists.
Sam - then cast off that frock, I say. Be done with it and show the world your glory!
Eryl - ha! that's the oldest one in the book - we all know trifle never runs out. Any remains are always fed into the next one, creating an unbroken chain of trifles since before Alexander the Great.
FLG - ah yes, stomach bugs - the natural weight loss product...
Restaurant Gal - you do well to try and avoid the cancer sticks again. At least with oevereating you just harm yourself; with smoking you harm those closest to you.
Dr Maroon - elasticated trousers - it's the future for all of us
I've been shamelessly indulging for the past five days -- which is bad enough. But today I woke up and knew that I had to have a sweet potato pie. And I've gone and baked one. And this is after the candied walnuts, the moist jam fruit cake, the chocolate Brazil nuts, Stilton and olive pastries, and the enire box of almond brittle.
I'm going out for a long walk now. But even Chairman Mao couldn't walk off the blubber I've accumulated.
Last night I ate a whole chocolate bell. I have been feeling queer the last few days but a kir and choc seemed to work. I'm still in my dressing gown so am comfy round the waist. We'll all be good next year and I'm going to try to be really, really good. May you and yours have a smashing next year. And keep posting.
Mary - when sweet potato pie calls, you have to answer.
Pat - towel, silk or fleece dressing gown?
Hope you have a great one too - and don't worry, I'm not planning on stopping the blog :)
