The blog of photographer Kim Ayres

Bleargh!

I’m dying.

Ok, I’m not really – it just feels like it. But I do have a stinker of a cold. Hey, I’m a man. I have a low pain tolerance threshold and a high whinge factor.

Rogan seems to have escaped it, while the rest of us all have gone down with the damn thing. I have it worst though. No, really I do. Even Maggie admitted it! So there.

Bleargh!

Poor Maggie. I MEAN POOR KIM. Yeah, poor Kim. Hope you feel better.

Sending you chicken soup.

Ok, not really.

But virtual chicken soup. And all my best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Nikki - Don't fret - I'm sure Maggie'll feel better in a few days...

Atilla - it's virtually tasty, thank you :)

Feel better soon, Kim. Colds are the pits.

Thanks Rhonda - a bit of sympathy is all I crave...

Mind over matter
and eat something spicy
like curry chicken soup

You know, what is it with the grown male and getting sick? They don't want to go to the doctor ever, and they require so much attention and mothering when they're sick!

This has confirmed it for me, you are definitely a man!!!

Hope you are all feeling better soon;)

HappyKat - mmmmm... curry chicken soup.

Stella - you mean the beard and constant references to my wife and kids weren't enough?

Stella said...

Nope, never can tell these days - disguise, your brother's photo, polycystic ovary syndrome, whatever, as to wife and kids, well anything goes these days, gay marriages etc. Yourreaction to illness however, proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you are male.

It's ok tho, some of my best friends are male.

Hope you feel better soon, Kim!

Interesting to note it's the ladies who've been around to wish you well...

OK, yeah... me break the code and say feel better. Guys tend not to respond to advanced whining because it makes us think of how WE am when we not feel good. So me send you well wishes like a guy to guy...

FEEL BETTER, YA BASTARD!
No come crying to me or me give you something to cry about!

:]

(no, really... feel better. Me have bad cold just starting so me feel for ya.)

Kim Ayres said...

Stella - well that's alright then...

Lindy - yes I had noticed this, and was trying to figure it out. I've expanded on my thoughts with Monstee below.

Monstee - With few exceptions I found that if you tell a woman you're not feeling well then, despite the fact that she believes you're exaggerating the symptoms, she will still give you a certain amount of sympathy.

However, tell a guy that you're not well and he'll tell you about a time that he was really ill.

For all that, I hope your cold gets better soon.

Which reminds me of the time...

This is odd, I tried to post here yesterday to offer sympathy for your poorliness and it wouldn't let me. Anywop, hot whiskey, cloves, large table spoon of honey. It's gross but it works very well. Take it at night before you head off to bed. My old nan swore by it.

Get better soooooon!!!!

Kim Ayres said...

Fatmammycat - I've managed the hot whiskey, the cloves (only just) and the honey. But to be honest, the table is taking longer than I thought to work my way through. Do you think I should have kept some of the honey back to make it easier to digest?

Kats - Thank you! I'm already on the mend I think - it could be the table...

There is no comma after table, mister smarty pants, rasp!

Neither did you write it as one word. But never let grammar get in the way of a good misunderstanding, as my old grandpa used to say...

Go on - you have to admit it made you smirk though.

Nikki said...

I smirked. Thought it was funny.

Nikki - New picture - from frog vomit (your desciption) to frog!

HI,
I hope you are feeling better fast.
I have read many of your comments on some other folks blogs and enjoyed them so much I had to come see your blog as well.
I will deffinately return to read more.
I would also love to learn about Scotland as I have never been there and found out a few years ago that my birthfather came to Canada from Scotland 3 years before I was born.
Get well soon!

Nikki said...

Yes, I'll be posting about my new friend later on.

Hope you're feeling better.

Don't you people realize what you're DOING? You have fallen into his carefully-laid trap. One sniffle and half the globe is showering him with sympathy and kisses--just as he'd planned.

Well to that I say, balls.

Atilla & Nikki - definitely on the mend, thanks :)

34Quinn - welcome to my ramblings. If you're interested, feel free to explore some of the categories on my sidebar

Branden - I'm shocked you would even suggest such a thing. My avian indiscretions are kept purely for ostriches

Admiral - you see right through me, as always
