Home again home again jiggity jig

.
Rogan is home from his school skiing trip. They left on the coaches from Northern Italy at 1pm on Saturday and arrived in Dumfries to be collected by parents around 4.30pm Sunday. He thinks he might have had up to an hour’s sleep.

During his time away, he came very close to breaking his leg.

Apparently 4 or 5 kids were flown home partway through the week, at their parent’s expense, for being caught out abusing alcohol, and possibly smokey stuff too.

And one of his friends had his eyebrows shaved by his roommates.

It seems kids will be kids no matter what decade we live in.

Fortunately Rogan has returned eyebrows intact and no letters from teachers. So either he has managed to stay out of trouble, or has successfully covered his tracks.

Either way I’m proud of him.

Brings back memories of my own class ski trip when I was a senior in high school....

I didn't get sent home, but didn't exactly follow all the rules, either.

So glad he's back safe and sound with eyebrows and legs intact. My #2 fell snowboarding and has to go back to the orthopedic surgeon on Friday...

I'm sure Rogan's a good boy, but he does have a few teen years left to, uh, experiment--all in the name of science, of course.

And LOL at PI's comment.

When the dude went to France when he was about your son's age, his parents got a letter from a teacher saying he had drunk an amount of alcohol "that could only be described as foolish." His mother still laughs about this.

Having been on several school ski trips myself, I'd never let my kids go, which is probably why I don't have them! You're brave.

Savannah - unfortunately his camera played up and decided to drain the batteries withing a couple of minutes of putting them in, so he hardly has any to show :(

LegalMist - and you a lady of the law too... ;)

Debra - ouch! Hope it works out well

Jessie - it'll be easier to laugh several years after...

Sam PCB - we're all dead proud of him :)

Pat - yes, absolutely!

Sarah - a highly prized skill! Unfortunately I was always completely crap at lying and envied my brother for whom it was second nature.

KarateMom - yeah, when I was in Canada as an exchange student I noticed they had funny ideas for Frosh. I steered clear of it

Charlie - one day at a time, one day at a time...

Anna - but however it goes, kids learn more on 1 week of a school trip than they do in an entire term of school classes.

Missed you in the ether there, son.

It's only because you've spiked your hair up... ;)

Ahhhh the oul shaving of the eyebrow gag. Take's me right back to my days at St Bridgets.

Halcyon days indeed.

The stories Bob tells me, now, of his school and university days; if I'd known any of it at the time I'd have locked him in a cupboard.

Hi Kim
I hope Rogan had a good time.
Did he take a camera with him?

Jimmy Bastard - welcome to my ramblings and thanks for taking the time to contribute. Shaved eyebrows are so much funnier when you're that age and you don't have to worry about it being your own kid on the receiving end ;)

Eryl - this is why it's better to send kids to college or uni as far away as possible

Savannah - any photos?

Miss Blue Sky - he did, but the batteries kept draining, so he doesn't have a set of photos :(

Glad Rogan's back, safe and sound!

What is it with the eyebrow shaving, I wonder? It's become the fashion here for boys (only boys) to shave off part of one eyebrow. (But presumably this was a prank and not a fashion statement?)

No, this was prank stuff
