Woohoo! I've just had root canal treatment!

Now there's a title I never thought I'd ever write.

The injection's just beginning to wear off...

Ooooh...

Hope it's not too painful!

Mr Blogs had one about a month ago. For some reason he didn't find my jokes about tiny gondoliers very funny.

I know your pain - had it in Australia so the Great Barrier Reef went down like a lead balloon. Pain killers do help. Hope it's better soon.

awwwwwww ouchie,,,poor you!!! I think you may have to have a big heaping helping of icecream and cake to make you feel better later...( it is okay so long as you brush after LOL )

Fortunately other than a bit of bruising on the gums, there wasn't much pain at all - mainly because root canal treatment removes the nerve ending responsible for feeling any.

I do have a new sympathy for the Dustin Hoffman character in Marathon Man now though

Fun, isn't it?

I really enjoyed my root canal, actually. It was in the very worst part of summer, and while our house was not air-conditioned, the dental clinic I went to was. The dentist told me what he was going to do, but since he didn't speak English, I didn't realize that it was actually root canal. After about the fifth treatment, I suddenly realized what was going on. Boy, did I feel stupid.

I'm glad no one reminded me about Marathan Man, all the same.

I can remember having a series of dental treatment in the US, including crowns, which doesn't come cheap there. They have special high interest rate dental credit cards (only in America), so even the most indisposed can contribute to the dentists mortgage and Mercedes. After a particularly long and tedious procedure, he gleefully announced "How did I feel after the root canal?" The Bastard didn't even say he was going to do it or why. Will that be cash or credit. In the end it wasn't too painful and my crowns are still in place after 10 years.

Mary - what a time to have a language barrier!

Colin - welcome to my ramblings... although there is something vaguely familiar about you - have you been here before, a while back?

Congrats on getting that fixed. Heaven knows you needed it! Geez!!! I saw that new profile pic and fell of me seat laughing!!! :)

It's not fixed, Avocado. I've just had the root canal work done and the canal has been filled. I still have to wait for further cancllations before a cast is taken of my teeth and a new crown can be built
