Run with enthusiasm and love, rather than profit, Robin Baird has seen his project grow massively over the past couple of years, and his time and commitment to the people of this area was recognised a few weeks back when he was nominated for 2 separate categories in the DG Life Magazine People of the Year Awards 2013.
Earlier this year, on the website, he began a series of featured articles on local photographers. And December's Featured Photographer is none other than yours truly.

bipped over to see your feature, Kim, well done (and great 'Ramble' therein too on your art).....
ReplyDeleteon this note --> "We can create images that look like film stills, movie posters or album covers, or we can recreate scenes from a book, a favourite poem..."....I think if I were to be one of your subjects and could be represented artistically by a poem, I would hope to be trademarked by "lovely, dark, and deep" as in Robert Frost's woods and all that metaphorically and beautifully means.....
well, who knows, I'll letcha know if I'm ever on that side o' da pond ; )
kudos on your kudos, Kim,
sweet rest of your weekend,
Liz~*
I feel so happy for you, and pleased to know you, I went and bragged on Twitter. heh.
ReplyDeleteThe featured portraits are all beautiful. The Keats photo is uncanny in its likeness. Very cool, Kim.
ReplyDeleteLiz - another option is to get a few friends/neighbours/colleagues to club together and fly me out for a week or two to do the photography over there. My passport was recently renewed :)
ReplyDeleteGuyana-Gyal - many thanks for that :)
Jonathan - thanks for your kind words. If you're interested, I wrote more about that particular photo, here:
John Hegley, John Keats and a Stick of Celery :)
Congratulations Kim!
ReplyDeleteThanks Allen :)
