On Monday the 5th of June at 1.20pm, this blog received it's 10,000th visit. I was hoping it might be one of my regulars, so I was planning on making a big fuss of whoever it was.
As it turns out, it was a flying visit by someone who had typed "poems for losing mums" into Google. It appears that on this day, Google ranked my Blog at number 27 for this phrase. So they turned up on the page Mum's Ashes, where I wrote about it being the 3rd anniversary of my mother's death. Whoever it was didn't stick around or explore any other pages on the site.
I hope they eventually found what they were looking for.
Rats. I was looking forward to a big fuss.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Kim.

Always good to have a goal.

ReplyDelete10K Cool; and I remember when you were just a young pup hovering around 3K:)
ReplyDeleteB
Like women menstruating together in the dark, we ticked over nearly the same time, Kim.
ReplyDeleteBut you were able to earn your 10k with far less content, a sure indicator of the exceedingly excellent output you generate.
I'm a Kim fan, possibly a GE turbofan.
Admiral - you're always worth making a fuss over :)
ReplyDeleteNikki - thanks!
Quinn - a book deal :)
Stella - thanks!
BStrong - I think you accounted for the first 3K :)
SafeTinspector - Congrats on the 10K. I'm not sure I'm entirely comfortable with your anaolgy though...
Congrats!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL, yes safetinspector...that was quite the example you chose. I bet there is a story there too ,,,just not too sure if I want to know it.
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff. The one that didn't hang around doesn't know what they're missing:0)
ReplyDeleteGE turbofan! Dream on SafeT. Really! Are they still going? I thought it was the French that was doing all their stuff for them now. What're they called? SMECMA or is that a G?
ReplyDeleteOh well done Kim etc. etc. Stop analysing everything. I'm still cross about your comments re education, but I won't let it come between us.
Atilla - thanks!
ReplyDeleteQuinn - I think you're right there :)
St Jude - you're too kind :)
Dr Maroon - what comments about education???
Congrats on your 10K, Kim! Cheers!!
ReplyDeleteDr. M:*HEAD SPINS VIOLENTLY* //don't mind the spittle on the wall.
ReplyDeleteMy question is, how did you know how many visitors and how they found you via google?
ReplyDeleteLaurie - the secret is Sitemeter - take a look near the bottom of the sidebar on the right of my blog and you'll see the Sitemeter icon.
ReplyDeleteIf you click on that you can see how many people I get to the site and if you explore it further you can find out quite a lot about the most recent 100 visitors, like the last page they were on beofre they came to this site.
It's not that tricky to set up your own sitemeter account for your blog
