You can see other photos from the time there if you follow this link:
https://kimayres.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/3-nights-away.html

Ponita - that was one of the first photos I ever did where I started playing with a very wide aperture, which creates a very shallow depth of focus - so very quickly everything drops off blurred. It was a misty day too, so the background just disappeared. It influenced many of the not-people photography I've done since :)Kim Ayreshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02656677501116622953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15322620.post-51015335219676222562017-12-14T02:38:04.223+00:002017-12-14T02:38:04.223+00:00I love the second one. And if you look carefully, you can see a couple of strands of spider silk draped across the space between the branches.

That being said, they are all lovely!Ponita in Real Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06886875733169389887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15322620.post-72359702559686290652017-12-13T06:53:55.684+00:002017-12-13T06:53:55.684+00:00FYI, Kepa here :)

Apart from just loving the composition, it made me think about perception, and how something that can appear "in order" can actually be a rollercoaster beneath the surface.

And the photograph directly above it, the leaves poking out of a still body of water? I just love how stark it is. It's almost nothing, but that entire frame is filled by tangible stuff. Love it.Apex Zombiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04831580250709824079noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15322620.post-80119413229121495622017-12-12T22:36:31.537+00:002017-12-12T22:36:31.537+00:00The boat is my favorite. The way it it's curved and like a snake slithering. The last one is my next favourite. I just need to lower my palm to catch hold that droplet of water. It was impossible to see where the water ended and the sky began. I took several photos of grasses and reeds that day, but this was definitely my favourite :)Kim Ayreshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02656677501116622953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15322620.post-68865064926223364872017-12-12T20:02:10.514+00:002017-12-12T20:02:10.514+00:00The fifth one down. But I did finally see that it is grasses, or reeds, reflected but that is a pedestrian explanation of a pleasing pattern.Alan Richardsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16434923502647217184noreply@blogger.com
