Metaphorical

.
I’m standing in front of the charred remains of the theatre. All the sets, costumes and backdrops are nothing more than smouldering soot and ash.

Sigh.

Let me stand and stare a wee while longer.

I’ll get tired of looking at it soon enough, and then we can set about rebuilding.

It won’t take as long because at least we know what we need to construct this time.

The vision remains even if the props don’t.

When the inferno raged and destroyed all around, it wasn’t the end, only a setback.

We just start again, as we always do.

But I need to stare just a wee while longer.

- Wow. I love it. And I can relate... sometimes you can't get up and start rebuilding straight away. Even though it might be wiser...

Was this part of the Wickerman festivities that was scheduled to be set ablaze on the 24th or have I missed something?

Oh...thought about you early this morning. I was watching 'Rob Roy'..lol. You know I love movies!

P.S. My word verification for this comment is WHICKWOR ...kind of similar to Wickerman...sort of :)

Such need for a theatre when a cast of mummers can bring life to what ever street they find themselves in.

I like this, although I don't know why.

If you need a cup of coffee the usherette, I hear, is unharmed and has a flask.

So intriguing Kim. But then you know that. Be still for as long as it takes, but not a minute longer. Hope all's well.

This doesn't sound good. Though you seem to have a plan. :¬)

Sometimes the starting again seems like a fool's errand, the setback too far back and the vision is dim.

I like the staring a wee bit longer part. It seems very smart.

Thanks to each of you for your comments. Clearly I've left many of you in varying states of confusion, so I've made an attempt at further enlightenment.

Please read the latest post, Clarity? Or further confusion?"

Uh oh. Well, we have coffee here too, if your theater has really bad structural damage. (And I know you'll just ignore all the noise and weirdness and chaos...)

"We just start again, as we always do"

That statement was exactly what I needed this AM. I feel that as long as "we" (the hubs and I) can start again things will be OK. We can do this and perhaps this time the stage will be better and a bit easier to perform on.

Mary - unfortanately I've given up coffee. And I bet you've brought some good Turkish stuff back with you too :(

Angie - we can always start again - it's just getting over the inertia :)
